Teleste automates IT asset lifecycle management with IDR

“One of IDR’s key strengths is its ready-made integrations. The Intune integration is an excellent example: it was implemented in a single day and now automatically keeps user and cost center information up to date.”

Teleste was looking for a solution to automate IT asset lifecycle management as comprehensively as possible. The company manages more than one thousand computers across multiple countries.

Previously, retrieving and updating device information was highly manual and prone to errors. With IDR, Teleste gained real-time visibility into all devices through a single system and was able to automate IT asset lifecycle management.

All new devices registered at the moment of delivery

Teleste immediately benefited from the IDR ecosystem, which integrates all different partners into IT asset management. For example, new computers are registered in IDR already at the delivery stage by the distributor. Teleste no longer needs to enter basic device information or perform manual registrations itself.

“Ensuring that all new devices are registered in the device registry with 100% certainty is a significant improvement for us. Some devices in production environments never come under remote management, and now, for the first time, we have a watertight process that ensures nothing slips through the cracks.”

Intune integration ensures up-to-date user and cost center data

Teleste manages endpoint devices with Microsoft Intune, which was integrated with the IDR during the first week of implementation. As a result of the integration, device user and cost center information is updated automatically.

“One of IDR’s key strengths is its ready-made integrations. The Intune integration is an excellent example: it was implemented in a single day and now automatically keeps user and cost center information up to date.”

Automatic updating of financial data from CHG

Teleste finances nearly all of its computers through CHG-Meridian. To automate the lifecycle of leased devices, CHG’s Tesma system was also integrated with IDR.

At the same time, the integration was made bidirectional: when a user’s company or cost center information changes, the data is automatically updated back to CHG, ensuring that leasing invoices are always allocated to the correct cost center.

“The integration with CHG was implemented incredibly easily, and as a result, our IT team no longer needs to search for device and financial information in two different systems. The bidirectional data updates work excellently and significantly reduce manual work.”

Device return to the financing company at the end of the lifecycle

Processes related to the end of a device’s lifecycle were also automated with IDR. As a device approaches the end of its lifecycle, IDR sends an automatic message to the current user with instructions to order a new device and return the old one.

Once the return of the old device is confirmed, the information is automatically updated in CHG’s system to finalize the return process. When CHG receives the device, the integration automatically removes it from IDR, thereby closing the lifecycle of the old device.

“The solution delivered to Teleste seamlessly connects the IT partner, distributor, device manufacturer, Intune, and CHG. Automated data transfer eliminates manual work, improves data quality, and ensures that the device registry delivers real added value for Teleste.”
